Clara Mauriello Obituary

Clara Santelli Mauriello, 91, formerly of Michigan Ave., passed away Wednesday, February 17 at the Danbury Hospital in Newtown, CT. Born in the Bronx, Clara grew up in Schenectady where she graduated Mont Pleasant High School and the Spencer Business Institute going on to become an assembler at the General Electric Co. during WWII. She moved to Poughkeepsie in 1945 living there until 1961 when she moved back to Schenectady where she lived until 1997 when she moved to Connecticut. She was predeceased by her husband, Dominick Mauriello who passed away in 2000; and all her siblings, Charles and George Santelli, Emily Lombardi, Ida Roberts, Fran Sgarlata and Alberta Parisi. Survivors include a son, Vincent Mauriello and his wife, Diane of Huntington, CT. Clara was very devoted to her grandchildren, Valerie Mauriello of Shelton, CT, Brian Mauriello of Newtown, CT and her great- grandson, Adam Vincent Mauriello. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she was very close to. Clara also leaves behind many close friends from the Lockwood Lodge where she lived for 11 years. Funeral services Monday morning at 8:15 from the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St. and 9 o'clock at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours Sunday evening 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Interment, St. Johns Cemetery, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 125 Wolf Rd., Albany, NY 12205 or the Lockwood Lodge Residence Council, P.O. Box 5505, Newtown, CT 06482.
