Obituary of Cynthia McLaughlin

Cynthia L. McLaughlin-Schenectady Cynthia L. McLaughlin, 43, of Spruce St., died Wednesday, March 28, 2012, after a long courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Cynthia was born in Schenectady, the daughter of Raymond and Lorraine McLaughlin. She was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School where she was the captain of the basketball team and a graduate of Schenectady Community College, earning an associate's degree in business administration. She was an honor student at both schools. Cynthia worked for the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratories for 22 years, working as a payroll specialist. Through the years she acquired great knowledge about jewelry which led her to becoming a sales associate at Sondra's Fine Jewelry for several years and becoming a member of Sondra and Anthony's extended family. She is survived by her mother and father; her brother, Robert (Melinda) McLaughlin; longtime companion, Fred Graham; and niece, Alana Slattery. She was predeceased by a brother, Raymond R. McLaughlin. Funeral service, Saturday morning, 9 o'clock at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours Friday evening 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady.
