Shirley A. McLean, 68, of Java Plum Ln., FL, formerly of Dean St., Niskayuna, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton. Shirley was born in Schenectady, the daughter of John and Rita Dobies. She was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, class of 1960. Shirley was hired in 1960 by the First National Bank of Scotia. Throughout the years with the bank she held several positions and served the bank at several banking locations. She earned the appointment of officer (assistant cashier) and began the bank's business development program in 1983. In 1966, she was promoted to assistant vice president and retired in 1992. She had been a member of the Schenectady Chamber of Commerce and Soroptimist International of Schenectady and was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church She is survived by her loving husband, Howard M. McLean, Jr., their son, Mark McLean, both of Bradenton; and a granddaughter, Ashley. Funeral service will be held Friday morning at 10 a.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady, and 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours Friday morning 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady.
