Obituary of Robert Meaney

Robert J. Meaney, 71, of Pinehurst Circle, formerly of Schenectady and Saratoga Springs, died Friday, August 12, 2011 Bob was born in Schenectady, the son of E. Raymond, Sr. and Elizabeth Meaney and was a graduate of Linton High School and the Junior College of Albany. He had worked for Niagara Mohawk as a gas planner for 31 years, retiring in 1994. Bob had been an active member with the Hibernians, enjoyed golf at Schenecady Muni and Cypress Bay Golf Course. He is survived by two children, Mary Beth Meaney and Robert P. Meaney; loving companion of 25 years, Donna Mitchell; four brothers, Ray, Pete, Jack and Jim Meaney; and many nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his son, Joey. Funeral service Thursday morning 11 o'clock at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours are Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. Interment, Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
