Obituary of Frances Mesick

Frances Mesick, 75, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Frances was born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late James and Nora Finley, and moved to the Capital District as a young woman. She worked as a social worker, which she took great joy in, for more than 25 years, at first with the People's Advisory Service, and more recently with Northeast Parent and Child. Frances loved crafts, especially shopping for crafting supplies, and was an active volunteer for many years with the Crisis Center and Parents Anonymous. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Harry F. Mesick; children, Christine (George) Rickson, Marshall (Teresa) Kelly, Harry R. (Emma) Mesick, Dana (Melissa) Mesick, Stephan (Tina) Mesick and Todd (AnnMarie) Mesick; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and dear friends, Lisa (Frank) Angle-King. She was predeceased by her son, Gerald Kelly. The funeral service will be Thursday at 12 (noon) at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A calling hour will precede the service from 11 a.m. to 12 (noon) at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland.
