Chester J. Mucha, 78, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Ellis Hospital, after a short illness. Chester was born in Broadalbin, the son of Egnace and Nellie Martzek Mucha, and moved to Schenectady as a child. He was a graduate of the Schenectady schools. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War. For many years he worked at General Electric Co., retiring in 1988. He had been a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. He is survived by two sisters, Gladys Sasowski of the Town of Glen, and Josephine Stroud of Las Vegas, NV. He was predeceased by siblings, John and Egnace Mucha, and Mary Robinson and Jean Scott; and his longtime companion, Rosemarie Bord. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 9 at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie. Arrangements by the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady.
