Gregory L. Niemiec, 32, of Saratoga Road, died suddenly, Sunday, September 13, 2009, as a result of an accident. Gregory was born in Schenectady the son of Leonard and Linda Hotaling Niemiec. Greg graduated in 1996 from Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake along with his wife, Sara. He also was a graduate of Modern Welding School. He was employed as a carpenter for Bast Hatfield Company. Greg enjoyed bowling, was also an avid sports fan and an outdoors enthusiast. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Sara Casagrande Niemiec; his children, Miquel Calderon and Madalyn Niemiec; brother, Lawrence (Michelle) Niemiec of Brunswick; father and mother-in-law, William and Carol Casagrand; three sisters-in-law, Amy, Kateri, and Debra Casagrande; aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral service Friday morning 8:45 from the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan Street, Schenectady and 10 o'clock at Immaculate Conception Church (Route 50), Saratoga Road, Glenville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours Thursday afternoon 4 o'clock until 8 in the evening at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville.
