Obituary of Stephen O'Brien

Schenectady - Stephen V. O'Brien, 55, of Nora Ave., died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at home. Stephen was born in Schenectady, the son of Howard and Lena O'Brien and was a graduate of Bishop Gibbons High School and Hudson Valley Community College. Steve worked for several companies through the years including, Teledyne and Gurley in Troy, Turbo Systems International, GE Silicone, Kennecott Copper Mine in Utah where he was the precious metals manager and LaFarge Concrete Co. where he was an electrician, mechanic and crane operator. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union and co-owner of Circle B Sports Assoc. and a communicant of St. Luke's Church. He is survived by four siblings, Aileen (Rick) Svec, David (Barbara) O'Brien, Paul O'Brien, and Kathleen (Lanny) Rosenbaum; uncle, David Del Grosso; and aunt, Florence O'Brien; cousins, Tara Nadi and Todd O'Brien; nieces, Christina, Erin, Brenna and Jillian; and great-nieces. Funeral service, Friday 11:30 from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 12 noon at St. Luke's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. A calling hour will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 at the funeral home. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
