Thaddeus S. Ogonowski Jr. (Bud), passed into eternity in hospice care at Ellis Hospital on Tuesday morning, December 13, 2011. Born on August 16, 1922, Bud was the son of Eugenia Ananieva and Thaddeus S. Ogonowski Sr. He graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and attended Union College through his senior year. He served in the United States Army Air Corps as a pilot through World War II. After his discharge, he worked as a machinist for General Electric and also owned several business enterprises prior to retiring. He married Olive Delanoy McDougal Ogonowski, who predeceased him, and is survived by his daughter, Jonete M. Ogonowksi. He is also survived by two sisters, Eugenia O. Rutherford of Menands, NY (and her six children) and Olga Rosenfield of Westport, CT (and her two children). An avid New York Giants fan, we affectionately remember Bud for his wry sense of humor, his love of fast food, and the attentive, generous parenting he lavished on his daughter, Jonete. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. George's Episcopal Church, 30 North Ferry St., Schenectady. Donations may be made to the Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308.
