Obituary of David Pasquariello
Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On May 15th, 1947 Ralph and Cathryn "Kay" (Salley) Pasquariello of Schenectady, welcomed their first born David Ralph into the world.
David received his formal education at Schalmont High, SUNY Cortland and Hudson Valley Community College but his many hobbies, interests, and love of science and nature provided a lifetime of continual learning. Presented with a question to answer, problem to fix, or anything to build, David would focus on solving, repairing, or constructing it and could always be counted on to do so successfully. He was just one of those special people that could do it! A self-taught and obsessive computer geek, he embraced new technology including video games, much to the delight of his grandchildren.
David's love of nature and the outdoors took him to the ski slopes of Utah, hunting in Colorado with Ed, fishing in the Florida Keys and Long Island Sound with Jack Frag, and hiking through the Adirondacks with Terry, knowing always, how fortunate he was to have good friends to share his interests with.
David owned and operated Morrette's King Steak House for 37 years. Although the hours were many and free time was a rare commodity, he was determined to continue the success the Schenectady landmark had known since it was established in 1947, ironically the year he was born. With unwavering support and help from his family plus a dedicated staff, he knew that achieving his goal was a group effort, especially when he was unable to be there regularly for the past two years. His son, Micah, will continue the Morrette's tradition and bravely accepted, especially in David's last months, continual instructions for a new role to take on much too soon.
Morrette's provided many gratifying and successful years for David, but his crowning achievement was meeting his future wife, Dolores "Dee" there. What would become a true love story of devotion, mutual respect, admiration, and a successful blending of two families for over 23 years and counting. A love tenderly and ultimately demonstrated by loving him enough to let him go.
David was so very proud of his family. Although he was a man of few words and quiet demeanor, he managed to convey his love to all. Nicole and Micah were his first daughter and son. They were followed by Aaron, Joel, Sarah, and Michael. Nicole, and her husband, Bill Lazor added two fun grandkids, Nolan and Marin. Sarah and her husband, Dave Bauer brought Sophie, Henry, and Stella into the family with joy. Joel and his wife Heather have beautiful Jolene and Calvin. Michael Farrell's Josh, Noah, Grace, and Eli have also enriched David's life.
In addition to his parents and Dee, David is also survived by his beloved sisters Sandra Bielecki and Terri (Tony) Caracciolo, loving nieces and nephews including Andrea (Robert) Hemsworth, Christopher (Latika) Bielecki and their daughter, Lillian, Robert, Michael, and Rachel Caracciolo. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, sister-in-law and brothers-in-laws, all of whom were of great importance to him.
We may have physically lost our David on February 10th, 2011, but through our love he will be with us forever. Through his generous anatomical gift to the sciences he was continually amazed by, he may just be part of helping to find a way to prevent pancreatic and other cancers. Also, it was his wish, in lieu of flowers, to make contributions in his memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital for all the future "short people" that delighted his life.
On Sunday, February 13th, 2011, David's family will be receiving condolences from family and friends for calling hours from 12-2pm at the Daly Funeral Home at 242 McClellan Street in Schenectady, with a Memorial Service to follow immediately at Daly Funeral Home.
