Mrs. Patka..you were by far the best teacher I've ever had.... Her method of teaching wasn't just about "school" related things, classroom behavior or grades... she taught us life lessons and it was evident she sincerely cared for each and every one of us.......Mrs. Patka had a rough and strict way in her classroom, but it was followed by a soft and genuine interior, that made you just love and respect her as a teacher, person and friend... Its surreal to think its been 14 years since I've graduated, but a few months ago I ran into Mrs. Patka at Sunnyview Rehab in Schenectady, we sat and talked about family, her health, my health and life.....next time she came in she brought chocolate for me, the therapists, and friends she had and made their.....lol....thats Mrs Patka.......although she was battlin with her own health problems, she took the time to give to others...i think thats a part of her legacy..a giver...a friend...and a wonderful teacher.....I'll never forget her, and the things shes taught me..... Words cannot express how deeply saddend I am to hear about this tradgic loss.
