Alma Cassella DeSalvatore Pecora, formerly of Saratoga Road, died Saturday, September 10, 2011, at the Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center, Scotia. Alma was born in Schenectady, the daughter of Germano and Catarina Ottati Cassella. She was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School. Family was most important in her life; she loved to gather the family for holidays and family dinners. Mrs. Pecora was predeceased by her first husband, John DeSalvatore, in 1961 and her second husband, Joseph Pecora in 1989, being remembered as a loving wife. She is survived by five children, Lewis (Cindy) DeSalvatore, Linda DeCarlo, Joseph (Christine) Pecora, Sandie Timberlake and Barbara (Jeffrey) Arbour; devoted grandmother to her seven grandchildren, Jeffrey (Angelina) DeCarlo, Paul DeSalvatore, Michael (Stacy) Pecora, Joseph (Jill) Pecora, Jeffrey (Dori) Arbour, Nicole Arbour and Sean Timberlake and her cherished seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Dr. Peter Cassella, Louis Cassella, Perina Ruscitto, Clementine DiLallo and Rose Grosso. Funeral service Thursday morning 9:15 from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours Wednesday evening 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Interment St. John's Cemetery, Schenectady.
