Obituary of Susan Peek

Rock City Falls - Susan Peek, 64, passed away peacefully, Wednesday July 25, 2012 with her loving family by her side. Susan was born in Schenectady, the daughter of Faith Geier and the late James Sarris and was a lifelong area resident. Susan loved to garden, enjoyed her animals, and was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, wife and most importantly a friend to many. She adored her grandchildren and was proud of their every accomplishment, from tying their first pair of sneakers to graduating from middle school. She was a workaholic and throughout her life she worked at George's Market, Sears, ABC Coffee, Hilltop Nursing Home and most recently Lowe's. Susan enjoyed her various jobs throughout her life and was always personally invested in those jobs and the people she worked with. She is survived by her husband, Fred Snyder; children, Laura (Dan) Rotter, David (Jennifer) Peek and Katherine (Robert) Britten; grandchildren, Renee Tomasek, Morgan Peek-Britten, Jillian Peek, Allison Peek, David Peek-Britten and Elianah Snyder; stepchildren, Joshua Snyder and Christine Snyder. Susan is also survived by several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved father, she was predeceased by her first husband, Harry Peek. The funeral service will be Saturday 11 a.m. from Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours will precede the service on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
