On September 16, from her home at the Ellis Center, in her 93rd year in this life, Millie Benacquisto passed into her new and everlasting life with our Lord. Millie was born to Joseph and Maria Victoria (Ricci) Ferro on January 19, 1917. Sister of the late Dominic Ferro, Frank Ferro, and Frances Belli. She was married to Anthony J. Benacquisto, who passed on in 1994. She was a kind, sweet, and gentle soul, who raised her five children, and was a surrogate mom to her grandchildren. Devoted to her family, and her friends, she was a spiritually filled woman who loved unconditionally. A lifelong member of St. Anthony's Parish, the Sacred Heart League, St. Elizabeth Auxiliary, and the Schenectady Women's Christian Bible Group. She leaves behind her children, Lucy and Paul Freudigman of Glenville, Phyllis and Vincent LaVigna of Daytona Beach, FL, Clementine Benacquisto of Kihei, Maui, Hawaii, Anthony Benacquisto Jr. of West Palm Beach, FL, Ann and Larry McDonald of Columbia, MD; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her extended family at the Ellis Center. We sincerely thank and gratefully acknowledge Dr. David Phelps, who had cared for her with the greatest kindness and respect; the family of the entire staff at Ellis Center, who lovingly took care of her; Father Richard Carlino, whom she loved and who gave her solace each time he visited, and to Sister Maria Rosa Querini, whose love, kindness, and compassion was a source of joy to her. Millie has been entrusted to the Daly family. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, September 21, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. On Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. a Mass will be held at St. Anthony's Church, Nott and Seward, Schenectady. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery. Contributions in Millie's memory may be made to St. Anthony's Church, Seward Place, Schenectady.
