Niskayuna - Mary Venditti Rayner, 75, of Killarney Dr., Niskayuna, died peacefully Thursday, August 23, 2012, at home after a long illness. She was born in Schenectady, the daughter of the late Valentino and Adeline (Polsinelli) Venditti and was a lifelong area resident. Mary graduated from Nott Terrace High School, Class of 1954. She worked for Knolls Atomic Power Lab for may years, retiring in 1995. Mary's grandchildren were a source of great joy to her and at family gatherings she would amuse them with her tales about growing up on Goose Hill. She was a wonderful cook and made The Best Meatballs. Mary is survived by her husband, George Rayner, whom she married June 10, 1978; children, Michael (Debbie) Brucker of Canajoharie, Mark (Joan) Brucker of Rotterdam, Lynn Brucker of Schenectady, Matthew (Cheryl) Brucker of Esperance, and Mark (Chantal) Rayner of Greenacres, FL; brothers, Claude (Rose) Venditti of Scotia and Pio (Patricia) Venditti of Rotterdam; 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday 8:15 a.m. from Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady then to Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Parish, Union St. (formerly St. Helen's Church) where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Calling hours are Sunday 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna next to her beloved grandson, Andrew Wright.
