Obituary of Alice Roberts

Alice M. Roberts Niskayuna Alice M. Roberts, 86, formerly of Hillside Ave., passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home after a long illness. Born in Schenectady, Alice was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and the St. Rose School of Nursing. She was assistant director of nursing for Sunnyview Hospital, retiring after 34 years of service. Alice was a member of the RN club, Sunnyview Alumni, a former parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima where she was also a Eucharistic Minister. Alice also volunteered for Community Hospice and the Red Cross. Wife of the late Clifford L. Roberts, she is survived by a son, Kevin W. Roberts MD of Slingerlands; two daughters, Kathleen A. Odermatt of Katy, TX, and Susan E. Goldberg of Deer Park, NY; a brother, Richard Miranda of Port Charlotte, FL; and a sister, Elaine Delaney of Rotterdam; eight grandchildren, Matthew and Adam Roberts, Kate, Evan and Ian Odermatt, Brian, Daniel and Jared Goldberg; also survived by a great-grandaughter, Savannah Goldberg. Funeral service, Monday 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Family, close friends and parishioners are invited to attend. Visitation will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment, St. Johns Cemetery, Schenectady.
