Janet and family, I am so sorry to hear about Steven's passing. I cannot believe that he's twenty two.... just does not seem that long ago that I knew him as that cute little guy. I am sure that there is a big hole in your hearts right now. Know that I am thinking of you and him with warm thoughts of our times together.

Dear Janet and family - I'm not sure that you will remember me, but I was homeroom mother in one of Steven's classes in Pine Grove and Jefferson. My fondest memories of Steven was his infectious smile, his everyday presence, and the time he came to one of Travis's birthday parties and you brought him into the jumping balls and the big smile he had on his face. I was so sorry to see his picture in the paper and to see of his passing and also regret that I was unable to be at the wake, but my deepest sympathy goes to you and your family. May Steven be free now to always smile and jump in the balls forever. God Bless - Barbara Costello

The smile that could speak volumes - I will always remember how with subtle changes he could tell me so much. Janet's devotion to him has been incredible. Thank you for allowing me to share in this relationship and the life of Stevie - you have taught me more than I can express. Sorry I was unable to be there.

Although I did not work directly with Steven at the Langan School, I was fortunate to know his smile and to enjoy his greeting and teasing while in his classroom. He taught me that a person could smile through any difficulty. Steven's influence and inspiration extended to all who knew him. I am so sorry for his passing and very grateful for his life. Bless you all.

Hi Janet, I just found the award speech I wrote for Steven last year for his growth in communication skills. I could have never guessed in the one year since he left us at Langan that he would venture on even more, having success with the Eye Max. Bottom line with your son though, is that he could communicate without words. I was honored to get to know someone who could tell me so many things just by the look on his face. I feel lucky that he came to Langan for his last years of school. He has taught me so much and will always have a place in my heart. You have been the best mom ever for him. I wish you well always! Dear Janet, William and family, A number of our staff have very fond memories of Steven and the time he spent with us in our preschool classrooms. We always felt we learned more from him than he did from us....he was truly a very special little boy and we are sure he grew into a very special young man. He was a bright and shining addition to our program and we are thankful for the time he spent with us. The earth has lost a bit of its sparkle with his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Fondly Martha
