Obituary of Ruth Rummer

Ballston Lake - Ruth E. "Eileen" Rummer, formerly of Komar Dr. and Saratoga Rd., Glenville, died Monday, August 13, 2012, at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center. Eileen was born in Mound City, KS and moved to Grandview, Idaho in 1930. She was a graduate of St. Luke's Hospital City School of Nursing and served in the U.S. Army as a nurse. She moved to Schenectady in 1945 and was a nurse at Ellis Hospital for 30 years before retiring in 1987. She had been a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Alvin Rummer in 1980; they married in 1945. She was also predeceased by a son, David Rummer. Eileen is survived by a son, Keith Rummer of Troy; two sisters-in-law, Christine Copeland and Carol Giannattasio; three grandchildren, Ian Rummer, Shaun Baesman and Nicole Rummer; four great-grandchildren, Effie, Gibson, Hallam and Caledonia; and close friend and companion, Everett West. Funeral service Tuesday evening 6 o'clock at The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, preceded by a calling hour 5 to 6 at the church. Interment Monday at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie at a time to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 547 Saratoga Rd., Glenville, NY 12302.
