Obituary of Anne Santorelli

Anne Gecewicz Santorelli, 92, formerly of VanAntwerp Rd., passed away peacefully at the Kingsway Arms Nursing Home. Born in Schenectady, Anne was the daughter of the late Stanley and Nellie Gecewicz. She was co-owner, along with her husband, Joseph, of the Carlton Restaurant for over 40 years. Anne was also a member of St. Mary's Rosary Society, the Schenectady Symphony, and the Schenectady Museum. She was also an accomplished poet, having several of her poems published in The World Book of Poetry. Wife of the late Joseph Santorelli, who died in 2009, she is survived by her daughter, Linda Tannatta and her husband, Raymond of Niskayuna; two grandchildren, Stacey Phillips (Mark) and Stephen Tannatta; four great-grandchildren, Emily and Jake Phillips, and Sophia and Samantha Tannatta, and two step great-grandsons, Sean and Craig (Mahi) Phillips. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Anne was predeceased by her son, James; brother, Ed, and sister, Virginia. A memorial service will be held Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There will be no calling hours. Interment private.
