Edward W. Schultz, 93, died peacefully October 21, 2009 at St. Peter's Hospice in Albany after a short illness. Born in Niskayuna, he was a lifelong area resident. Edward was a hard working, quiet, unassuming man who devoted his life to his family. He worked as a draftsman for the General Electric Co. then was a plant manager for the former Sarnowski Dairy and a salesman for the former Racklyn Paint Store. As a young man his passion was for music, particularly the violin, he played for the Schenectady Symphony Orchestra. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Blauvelt; and his sister, Irene Szuulerowicz. He is survived by a son, Alan W. (Linda) Schultz of Olivebridge, NY; and a daughter, Carol A. Schultz of Schenectady; three grandchildren, Kristine (Jeremy) Schultz-Lebediker of Ballston Spa, Julie (Jeff) Mitchell of Bakersfield, VT and Alana (Billy) Denton of Chichester; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob and Evan Lebediker and Bella Mitchell. Funeral service, Monday morn, 9:30 from the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., and 10 at St. Joseph's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be held Sunday afternoon 2 to 4 at the funeral home. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to Community Hospice, 1411 Union St., Schenectady 12308.
