Obituary of Vito Scolamiero

Vito J. Scolamiero, 78, formerly of Clifton Park, passed away peacefully Friday, September 23, 2011, at Glendale Nursing Home. Born in Schenectady, son of the late James and Alice (DellaRocca), Vito was a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy. Vito owned and operated Mr. James Hairstylist for 58 years before retiring. Vito served in the U.S. Army then the Army Reserves from 1953-1961. He was a member of Knights of Columbus of Clifton Park, the American Legion Post 1450 and past president of Kiwanis of Shenendehowa. He also loved summers in Lake George. He was predeceased by a brother, Michael Scolamiero. Vito was the husband of the late Barbara Montana, who passed away May 12, 2000. Survivors include three sons, Stephen J. Scolamiero (Rosemary Criocetti), James Scolamiero, both of Clifton Park, and Mark Scolamiero (Patrice Stallmer) of Schenectady; a sister, Nancy Norris of Clifton Park and loving companion, Kathy Corini of Rotterdam. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Judith Scolamiero, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Monday at 10:45 a.m. from the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., and 11:30 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park. Interment in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Calling hours will be Sunday afternoon, 1 to 4, at the funeral home.
