Schenectady - Josephine "Ginger" Sienka, 93, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 3, 2012. Ginger was born in Schenectady, one of 13 children to Anthony and Josephine Kalinowski. She graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and was a lifelong area resident but more recently moved to Clifton Park to live with her family then to Maplewood Manor Nursing Home in Ballston Spa, where she was treated like family. Ginger enjoyed dancing, crocheted beautifully and loved to cook for family dinners and take bus trips to area casinos. She was a longtime communicant of St. Adalbert's Church and an avid Yankees fan. Ginger was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Chester Sienka; their son, John Paul Sienka; and her 12 siblings. Ginger is survived by her daughter, Mary Ellen (Richard) Buda of Clifton Park; stepgrandchildren, Courtney (Cory) Thayer of Schuylerville, Nicholas (Samantha) Buda of Clifton Park and Daniel Buda of Liverpool; stepgreat-grandchildren, Ashleigh and Olivia Thayer of Schuylerville; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 8 a.m. from Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady then to St. Adalbert's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Calling hours will be Sunday 4 to 6 p.m. Burial will be in St. Adalbert's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association , American Cancer Society or Maplewood Manor Nursing Home
