Schenectady - Nikolaos Sikamiotis, 67, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. Nikolaos was born in Athens, Greece, the son of the late Konstantinos and Kyriaki Sikamiotis. He immigrated to the United States in the late 1970s after being a merchant marine in Europe for more than 15 years. Nikolaos owned and operated the Brandywine Diner for 25 years along with his wife, Elena, whom he married in 1975. He was a hard working man and a jack of all trades. Nikolaos enjoyed backgammon and billiards and was a good father and even better grandfather. In addition to his wife, Elena, he is survived by his children, Kostas (Barbara) Sikamiotis and Maria (Nicholas) Bosco; grandchildren, Niko and Alex; a brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be Monday, 10 a.m. at St. George's Greek Orthodox Church, Schenectady. Calling hours will be Sunday, 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the Trisagion Service at 7 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
