Patrick J. Smith SchenectadyPatrick J. Smith, 36, died suddenly August 16, 2012, at Ellis Hospital. Patrick was born in Niskayuna, the son of William, Sr. and Mary Jane Osterhout Smith. He was a graduate of Linton High School. In his youth he loved participating in sports; he played basketball while at St. Luke's School and baseball with the J.C. Little League. At one time he was self employed with his flooring company, later working at St. Clare's Hospital and in recent years he was a mechanic. He had been a communicant of St. Luke's Church and a volunteer with the food pantry. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Elijah Patrick Smith; his companion, Michelle Lobo; and seven sisters and brothers, Colleen (John) Gulli, Kathleen (Keith) Culpepper, Billie Jo, Joseph, Daniel, William Jr., Timothy and Terry Smith; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral service Saturday 1 p.m. at the St. Luke's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. There will be no calling hours. Interment private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Church (for the food pantry). Arrangements by the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady.
