Obituary of Maurice Bittle

Maurice W. Bittle - Niskayuna Maurice W. Bittle, 85, of Tracy Ave., died Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Albany Medical Center. Mr. Bittle was born and educated in Littlestown, PA. He was U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II and Korea. While in the Navy he attended Electronic School. He moved to the Schenectady area in 1951 and worked at General Electric as a test specialist, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed traveling with his wife in their RV and was an avid fisherman and gardener. For many years he was very active at Friedens Church. Maurice is survived by his wife, Irene Janeszek Bittle; two sons, William (Kathy) Bittle of High Springs, FL, and Wade (Michelle) Bittle of Henrietta; four grandchilren, William Jr., Ben (Amy), Emily and Daniel Bittle; one granddaughter, Anja; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service Thursday morning, 11, at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
