Damase Lawrence Obituary

Damase F. (Dan) St. Lawrence, 82, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2009, at Ellis Hospital. He was born in Wynehendon, MA. A U.S. Army WWII vet, he was employed for 32 years as supervisor for General Electric at the materials and process lab. He was a member of the Rotterda Elks, VFW Post 357, GE Quarter Century Club, and the GE Turbine Supervisors Assoc. He was a life member of the Watervliet Rod and Gun Club, and volunteered at St. Clare's Hospital, St. Luke's Church and Sacred Heart-St. Columba's Church. His wife, Janet Frederick St. Lawrence, died April 6, 2005. He was also predeceased by a brother, Marcel St. Lawrence. Survivors include his four children, son, Damase J. St. Lawrence (Karen); daughters, Suzanne Haley, Jean M. Taglieri, Joanne Russo (Robert); a sister, Shirley A. Venette; brother, Leslie St. Lawrence; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St. on Friday at 1 p.m., to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. There will be no calling hours. Burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post 357, Fifth Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12303.
