Obituary of Patsy Tessitore

Patsy A. Tessitore, 89, entered into his eternal rest with the Lord on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Ellis Hospital. Patsy was born April 15, 1921 in Benevento, Italy and immigrated to the United States with his parents as an infant. He was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School and faithfully served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946. Patsy's career was solely devoted to the General Electric Turbine Department where he worked as a pattern maker. He was a longtime member of the Sons of Italy and a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church. Survivors include his beloved wife, Nicolina "Nickie" Tulio Tessitore, whom he married September 22, 1947; children, Patrick Tessitore of Niskayuna and Gail Nicholas and her husband, Nick of Florida; grandchildren, Matthew and Olivia Tessitore, Elisa Bonthron, and Gabrielle Brower; great-granddaughter, Kaylee Brower; and several nieces and nephews. Patsy was predeceased by his siblings, and son, Michael Tessitore, who died in 1993. Funeral service will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan Street, then to St. Paul the Apostle Church, Albany Street and Kings Road, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a calling hour from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Patsy's name to the National Kidney Foundation of Northeast NY.
