Obituary of Otto Blattner JR

Otto J. Blattner, 76, of Taylor St., died Thursday, September 30, 2010, at Ellis after a short illness. Mr. Blattner was born in Rotterdam, the son of Otto and Margaret Ohl Blattner. He was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy and Hudson Valley Community College, earning a degree in mechanical technology. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1956 to 1958. For many years he was a machinist at the General Electric Co., later working for Green Trucking Co., retiring in 2001. He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie Clough Blattner; three daughters, Margaret Blattner of Green Island, Donna (John) Grunwald of Greenville, and Barbara (Tom) Chace of Cortland; five grandchildren, Megan and Sean Garrison, Steven Grunwald, and Christopher and Benjamin Chace; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service, Monday afternoon, 1:30 p.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours, Monday, 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
