Glenville - Laura Tidmarch, 67, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013. Born in the Bronx, NY the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Bremmer, Laura was raised in Lyndhurst, NJ. After earning her bachelor's degree in English from Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA, Laura taught English in Dundalk, MD, before moving to Glenville. She received her master's degree in learning disabilities from The College of St. Rose and taught special education in the Burnt Hills School District for many years before leaving education to raise her children. Laura was the devoted wife of Dr. Charles M. Tidmarch, who passed away in 1993. They were the proud parents of two daughters, Alexandra and Victoria. Laura was an active volunteer as a homeroom mother in her daughters' classes and with their ballet studies. From 1994 until 2007, Laura owned and operated The Nutcracker Suite Dance Supply Store on Union Street in Schenectady. Intelligent and creative, Laura was a voracious reader, particularly of non-fiction books. She always had a love of animals and a passion for Victorian history. Laura is survived by her daughters, Alexandra (Italo) Subbarao and Victoria (Jeffrey) Ketcham; grandson, Leonardo; sister, Joyce Krieg; and brother-in-law Richard Krieg. The funeral service will be Tuesday, 1 p.m., at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours will be Monday 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Vale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave., Scotia, NY 12302.
