Obituary of Frances Wainwright

Frances H. Wainwright of Visa Dr., died Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at Ellis Medicine, after a short illness. Mrs. Wainwright was born in Canandaiga, the daughter of Frank and Emily Helfer. Frances attended the University of Michigan and graduated from Genesee Hospital School of Nursing. She was a U.S. Army Air Corp nurse during WWII, serving as an air evacuation nurse, responsible for the care of the wounded soldiers being transported from the Azores and Paris when the war ended. Frances, many years ago, was a nurse at the Cornell Infirmary. She was an elder of the Little Falls Presbyterian Church and a deacon at the Trinity Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, Robert M. Wainwright; they married in June of 1950; two daughters, Kathleen (Jeremy) Hazlett of Loughlin, NV and Mary Beth (Mark) Snyder of Glenvlle; two sisters, Elizabeth DeNoon of LeRoy, NY and Edith Purdy of Plant City, FL; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Frances was predeceased by two sisters and a brother, Helen Hawkins, Grace Meyer and Howard Helfer. A memorial service will be held Friday morning 9:30 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 185 Swaggertown Rd., Glenville. Entombment, Gerald B. H.
