Obituary of Margaret Wallingford

Margaret "Peg" Wallingford, 89, of Coburg Village, passed away Sunday at Ellis Hospital. Daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Duffy, she was born in Amsterdam and was a Schenectady resident most of her adult life. Peg worked for the Schenectady school system as a secretary at Grout Park School for many years before retiring. She was a lifetime member of St. Luke's Church and a former member of its Rosary Society. She also volunteered for Little Sisters of the Poor and Coburg Village. Wife of the late Edward F. Wallingford; she was also predeceased by a son, Dennis Michael Wallingford. Survivors include a son, David E. Wallingford of Eagle River, AK; two daughters, Mary Beth Nolan of East Greenich, RI and Linda Johnson of Apalachin, NY. Peg is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning at 11:30 from the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., and 12 (noon) at St. Luke's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. An hour of visitation will precede the service at the funeral home from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made to St Luke's Church Restoration Fund.
