Obituary of Antoinette Wilson

Antoinette (Duni) (Toni) Wilson, 89, formerly of Foster Ave., passed away peacefully after a long illness. Born in Schenectady, she was the youngest daughter of Joseph and Rosina (Battista) Pecci. Duni was a lifelong resident and a 1939 graduate of Nott Terrace High School. She worked for the General Electric Company as a keypunch operator before becoming a homemaker. She also worked for Signal Core and W.T. Grant Co. She was a wonderful cook with her specialty salt and pepper cookies and pizzelles. Duni was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and volunteered at the Festa for many years. Mrs Wilson was predeceased by her husband, Jason Wilson, who died November 20 1992; three sisters, Mary Alleca, Fannie DeLorenzo and Alma Ottaviano; two brothers, Peter Pecci and Victor Pecci. Survivors include two daughters, Christine (Vincent) Martell and Marie (William) Thorne; four grandchildren, Cheri Martell, Vincent Martell III, Leigh-Marie Thorne and Danielle Thorne. Funeral service Wednesday morning 10:15 from the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St. and 11 o'clock at St. Anthony's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours Tuesday evening 5 to 7, at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady. The family would like to thank the staff of Ellis Center and Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care she received while a resident there since December 24, 2009; there are too many wonderful people to mention everyone individually. The family would also like to thank Community Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sunnyview Hospital Foundation.
