Obituary of Anna Winkler

Schenectady N.Y.- Anna M. "Annie" Winkler, 91, of Mont Pleasant, died Thurs., June 7, 2012. Annie was born April 12, 1921 in Niskayuna, the daughter of Joseph and Ernestine (Rosenbrock) Winkler. She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1939. She worked for the General Electric Company, in the Turbine Department as an engineering assistant, retiring in 1981 with 41 years of service. Annie was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Church in Schenectady. She also belonged to the GE Quarter Century Club and AARP. Annie was a member of St. Elizabeth's Auxiliary #93, of the Knights of St. John for over 60 years, spending time on the drill team and over 50 years with the bowling league. Annie's favorite times were spent with family and friends at many special events through the years. She dearly loved her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, great-grandnieces and nephews and cherished each and every one as her own child. She is survived by her sister, Lois (Don) Frame; 13 nieces and nephews, 33 grandnieces and nephews, 25 great-grandnieces and nephews, many cousins and lifelong friends. Annie was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph (Bobby), Robert (Mary), and Hubert (Jean). Funeral services will be held on Monday morning at 9:45 a.m. from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church (State St. and Lafayette St.). Calling hours will be Sunday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Church Restoration Fund, 225 Lafayette St., Schenectady, NY 12305. Members of St. Elizabeth's Auxiliary are requested to gather at the funeral home at 6 p.m. for a prayer service.
