Marjorie A. Manchester Wurth, 78, passed away Friday evening, January 8, 2010, at Ellis Hospital. Marjorie was born in Schenectady on August 10, 1931, the youngest of eight children to Fred and Lucy Supley Manchester. She attended Nott Terrace High School and devoted her life to being a homemaker. Marjorie worked for a brief period as a teacher's aide for Niskayuna's Iroquois Middle School during the early 1970s. Her family will always remember her as an avid reader, a pro at solving crossword puzzles, a passionate animal rights advocate, spending time with her granddaughters, leisurely drives to Vermont, shopping and researching the Manchester family tree. In addition to her parents, Marjorie was also predeceased by her siblings, Whilhemina Fontaine, Elda Gorden, Mildred, Edward, Howard, Fred and Robert Manchester. Survivors include her beloved husband, Henry O. Wurth, Jr., whom she married January 31, 1949; three loving children, Susan C. Wurth and her husband, Steve Smith of Phoenix, AZ, Nancy E. Wurth of Galway, and Mark D. Wurth and his wife, Marilyn of Rexford; two dear granddaughters, Rachel E. Wurth and Kristen S. Wurth; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 9 a.m. from Our Lady of Fatima Church, Rosa Road, Schenectady. Interment will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for calling hours Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan Street, Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marjorie's name to The Humane Society of the United States, 2100 L. Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20037-1598 or to World Wildlife Fund, P.O.
