Paula Furlani Boles, 61, of Mountainwood Dr., died Saturday, December 18, 2010, at Albany Medical Center, unexpectedly. Paula was born in Schenectady, the daughter of Valentino and Marilyn Hargraves Furlani. She was a graduate of Niskayuna High School and the Fashion Institute of Technology. She was a resident of Schenectady for most of her life and for six years had lived in Hawaii. Paula worked for The Gazette in the advertising sales department, retiring in 2007, with 23 years of service to The Gazette. She loved family gatherings, sewing, going to the beach, traveling, and especially time spent on Cape Cod. Paula enjoyed her membership at the Woodlin Club and Gold's Gym. The last few years she enjoyed dinners at The Water's Edge Lighthouse Restaurant. Paula is survived by her husband of 38 years, Brian Boles. She is also survived by three children, Amber (Thomas) Hubert of Colonie, Andrew Boles of W. Palm Beach, and Aubrey Boles of Saratoga Springs; a brother and sister, A. Gordon Furlani of Schenectady, and Valentina (Robert) Krauss of Niskayuna; two grandchildren, Adriana Hubert and Charles Boles; nieces and nephews, Jason Furlani, Jessica McCloskey, Timothy, Peter, and Kasey Krauss; a sister-in-law, Mary (Jerry) Baumunk of Boise, ID; and a brother-in-law, William Boles of Hopkinsville, KY; and many wonderful friends. Funeral service, Wednesday, 9 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, Union St., Schenectady, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours, Tuesday, 4 to 8 p.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Interment, Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave., Scotia, NY 12302.
