Obituary of Dolores Moffett

Niskayuna - Dolores M. Moffett, 90, formerly of Via Del Mar Rd., Niskayuna, died Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center, Guilderland. Mrs. Moffett was born in Orange, NY, moved to Schenectady as a child and was a graduate of St. Columba High School and the Ellis Hospital School of Nursing. She was a nurse at the hospital, becoming director of nursing before retiring several years ago. Dolores was a faith filled woman and had been a communicant of several Catholic churches in the Schenectady area. She was also a member of AARP, the Niskayuna Seniors and the Schenectady Women's Club. Dolores was predeceased by her husband, James F. Moffett; he died in 1999. She will be remembered as a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by four children, Patricia (Robert) Bendl of Niskayuna, James F. Moffett of Aurora, CO, Thomas (Janice) Moffett of Plattsburgh, and Michael J. Moffett, MD of Fresno, CA; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, William Gray. Funeral service Friday morning 8:15 from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St. and 9 a.m. at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church (Rosa Rd.) where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours Thursday evening 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Interment Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
