Obituary of Marjorie Scacchetti Callahan

Schenectady - Marjorie M. Ward Scacchetti Callahan, 91, of Frank St., Ballston Lake; formerly of Bradford Rd., Schenectady, died Monday, May 13, 2013 at Saratoga Hospital. Marjorie was born in Troy, the daughter of Earl and Margaret Ward Greenaway. She moved to Schenectady as a child and was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. She worked for the General Electric Co. for 44 years, working in many different positions and departments, retiring from the employment department in 1985. She was predeceased by her two husbands; Alfred Scacchetti who died in 1987 and John "Jack" Callahan who died in 2001. Marjorie is survived by a son, Philip (Kathy) Scacchetti of Ballston Lake; she was also a loving step-mother of Judi Solari of Hackensack, NJ, Alfred Scacchetti, Jr. of Glens Falls and Ralph Scacchetti of Hebron; 18 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings, Alberta Piotrowski and E. William Ward and a step-son, Dominick Scacchetti. Funeral service will be Monday morning, 11:00 at Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Mary's Haven, 35 New Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
