Schenectady - David L. Coons, 80, passed away Saturday June 15, 2013 at Ellis Hospital.
David was born in Tribes Hill, NY and raised in Northville. He moved to Schenectady as a young man and worked at numerous area businesses, including Sealtest Ice Cream, the Gazettes Newspaper and Randy's Automotive. He enjoyed trips to the Racino and Horseracing.
David is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Phyllis (Griffin) Coons, loving children: David J. Coons, John V. Coons and Susanne D. Brown, granddaughters: Jacqueline, Corrine, Amanda and Megan, great-grandson Mason siblings Larry Coons and Sally Laport and two nieces.
Calling hours will be Friday 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Daly Funeral Home 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
