Schenectady - Angeline Angie Gunn, 87, of Schenectady, passed away Friday, August 30, 2013 with her loving family by her side. Angie is survived by her sister, Lenore Snyder; a sister-in-law, Barbara (Michael) Vasiliou; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, David Gunn, who passed away in 2007; and their only son, George Gunn, who made the supreme sacrifice in 1967 while serving in the Vietnam War. Angie was also predeceased by her sisters, Nellie Aragona, Mary Aragona, Josie Plominski, Connie Baron and Jean Conte; and a brother, Eugene Ippoliti. Angie was born in Schenectady, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Letizia Ippoliti and was a lifelong area resident. As a young woman, she was a department manager at Big N and J.M. Fields. Angie worked for many years before retiring from the IUE GE Conference Board. She was a proud member of the American Gold Star Mothers Chapter 7, Schenectady. She was also in the Women's Auxiliary of DAV Post 99 and American Legion, and a lifetime member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, their Senior Citizens Group and Mount Carmel Women's Society. Angie lived with elegance, grace and strength and will forever continue to inspire over 100 nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Schenectady, on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Calling hours will precede the Mass on Tuesday 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made in Angie's name to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant St., Schenectady, NY 12303, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society Upstate New York Chapter, 421 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
