Obituary of Pasqualine McKiernan

Schenectady - Pasqualine "Pat" McKiernan, 94, formerly of Robinson St., Schenectady and Saratoga Rd., Glenville, died Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Ellis Hospital. Pat was born in Port Henry, the daughter of Dominic and Angelina Veneto and was a graduate of the Port Henry Schools. She moved to Schenctady in 1946. Pat enjoyed activities with family and friends, traveling with the G.E.A.A., where she traveled around the world and made lasting friendships. In addition to being a Yankee fan, she and her husband, Larry, were members of Whispering Pines Golf Club, where they each had holes in one, two times. She loved golfing with the three generations, grammy, daughters and grandsons. She and Larry also participated with square dancing clubs and had been a former communicant of St. Luke's Church. Through the years she acquired several beloved nicknames Bucky, Grammy and B. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother. Pat was predeceased by her husband, Laurence McKiernan, they married in 1943, he died in 1997. She is survived by three daughters, Laurene "Laurie" DeMichele (Michael Egan) of Glenville, Shirley Smith (Bill) of Mechanicville and Nancy McKiernan (Mark Murtaugh) of Scotia; two grandsons, Keith DeMichele (Christine) and Mark DeMichele (fiancee, Stephanie); and great-grandson, Nicholas. She was predeceased by her 10 siblings. Funeral service, Thursday evening, 7 p.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours 5 to 7 at the funeral home preceding the service. Interment Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
