Allen H. Cardinal, 83, died on Monday, September 16, 2013. Born in Ogdensburg, NY, Allen spent most of his life in Schenectady and in Liverpool, NY. He worked at General Electric for many years, initially as a glass blower and later as an engineer, at the company's plants in Schenectady and in Syracuse. He finished his career as a real estate broker. Allen served four years in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict. Allen was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Hermine Cardinal, and his sister, Sally Petro. He is survived by his wife, Theresa; his sister, Arlene Murray of Fort Collins, CO; four children, Paul (Cindy) Cardinal of Niskayuna, NY, Robert Cardinal of Baltimore, MD, Anne Marie Cardinal of Phoenix, AZ, and Mary (Roger) Cardinal Hill of Honesdale, PA. Allen is also survived by five grandchildren, Stephen and Lauren Cardinal, and Ymiliana, Che and Diego Cardenas; along with two great-grandchildren. Funeral service, Friday morning 8:15 from the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St. and 9 a.m. at St Kateri Tekawitha Parish (Union St.) where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment St. John's Cemetery, Schenectady. Calling hours will be held Thursday evening 6 to 8.
