Obituary of Anthony Wayne

Anthony Tony Wayne, 98, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013. Tony was born in Schenectady, the son of the late Frank and Ida Kelczewski. He enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 17 and proudly served for 26 years, retiring as a chief warrant officer. While serving, he sailed to the Antarctica with Admiral Byrd, was a deep sea diver and boxer. Tony is survived by his daughter, Nancy Wayne; niece, Lorraine (Don) Zorichak and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Agnes C. Wayne and his seven siblings. The funeral service will be Thursday, 11:30 a.m., at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
