Obituary of Marie Fredrick

Schenectady - Marie C. Fredrick, 92, formerly of Watt St., died Monday, November 4, 2013, at Kingsway Arms. She was born in Schenectady, the daughter of Henry F. and Mary C. Fredrick and was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy. She worked for the General Electric Co. for 40 years before retiring in 1981. She was a member of St. Elizabeth's Auxiliary #93, the Ladies of Charity, a 50-year volunteer at St. Clare's Hospital, a volunteer at Kingsway Arms for many years and a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph's Church, where she had been active with committees and activities of the church. She enjoyed gardening, decorating for the holidays and hosting family events. Marie is survived by a beloved brother, Donald (Mary) Fredrick, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and her loving canine companion, Bella Marie. She was predeceased by siblings, cousins and a nephew. Funeral service Saturday morning 8:45 from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 9:30 at St. Joseph's Church (State and Lafayette St.), where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours Friday evening 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Interment at St Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Church Restoration Fund, 225 Lafayette St., Schenectady, NY 12305. Members of St. Elizabeth Auxiliary are requested to meet at the funeral home Friday evening at 6 o'clock for a prayer service.
