Obituary of Helen Brady

Schenectady - Helen E. Brady, aka Helen Todd, 97, formerly of Lenox Rd. and the Heritage Home for Women, died Monday, October 22, 2012 at the Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa. Helen was born in Berlin, the daughter of William and Marguerite Brady. She moved to Schenectady as a child and was a graduate of the Schenectady Public School. She was a secretary for the New York State Department of Conservation, later working for the New York Sate Division of Military and Naval Affairs. She was the campaign manager for Gov. Dewey when he was elected governor of New York State. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Daniel J. Todd; he died in 1996. She is survived by two children, Mary Jane (Robert) MacFarlane and William Todd; five grandchildren, Heather Finley, Robert Todd MacFarlane, William John MacFarlane, Lisa and Stephen Todd; and several great-grandchildren. Funeral service Saturday morning 9 a.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A calling hour will precede the service. Interment, Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
