Rotterdam - Wayne R. Viall, 69, of Helderberg Ave., died suddenly at Ellis Hospital on Sunday, November 3, 2013.
He was born in Schenectady, the son of Frederick and Geraldine Viall. Wayne was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, the West Virginia Wesleyan College and earned his Masters in Education at SUNY Albany. He taught at the Sacandaga Elementary School in Scotia-Glenville School District for 35 years, retiring in 2001. He truly loved his profession, remembering every student he ever encountered. He was a member of the Scotia Glenville Elks, a longtime member of the Albany Street United Methodist Church and the Carman United Methodist Church. Wayne enjoyed stock car racing, fishing, baseball and spending time with his family.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Nancy Miller Viall; two sons, Frederick "Rick" (Anna Maria) Viall of Rotterdam and David (Nancy) Viall of Glenville; one sister, Joyce Viall of Schenectady and four grandchildren, Michael, Maria, David and Alexander Viall.
Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady.
