Leslie W. Kipp, 97, of Sanford St., died Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Ellis Hospital. Leslie was born in Schenectady, the son of Leslie and Anne Kipp and was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School. He worked at the General Electric Co. for over 40 years, where he was a machinist. After retiring from General Electric, he worked part time at Wedekind Motors. He was an avid Yankee fan, enjoyed antique car shows, working in his yard, reading and loved driving on Sunday rides with his beloved Rita. He was a lifelong communicant of St. Luke's Church. Mr. Kipp was predeceased by his wife, Rita Bleau Kipp; she died in 2000. He is survived by two daughters, Maryanne (Edward) Frye and Kathleen (Richard) Kalinowski; a sister, Jane Shires; three grandchildren, Colleen Frye, Susan Cavanaugh and James Frye; three great-grandchildren, Shane Foss, Craig and Megan Cavanaugh; and two great-great twin granddaughters, Riana and McKenzie; and special extended family member, Mark Gauger. Funeral service, Saturday morning, 9 a.m., from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 9:30 a.m. at St. Luke's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours, Friday evening, 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308. -
