Obituary of Ennio Furlani

Ennio Sonny A. Furlani, 78, of Jupiter, formerly of Schenectady and Clifton Park, died Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, Florida. Sonny was born in Cohoes, the son of Tony and Josephine Furlani. He moved to Schenectady as a child and was a graduate of Draper High School. He was a US Army veteran. Sonny sold Electrolux vaccuum cleaners with his father before going into the restaurant business. He owned and operated Sonny's at Webster and Eight, then Clifton Park Pizza Shop, then Sonny's on Rt. 146, and several years ago leased the restaurant at the Van Patten Golf Course named the Sand Trap. He had been an owner and trainer of horses at the Saratoga Raceway and had been a Third Degree with the Knights of Columbus and active at St. Ignatius Church in Palm Beach Gardens. Sonny is survived by his wife, Carol Furlani; one daughter, Kimberly (Thomas) Perry; one grandson, Gregory Perry; cousins and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ann L. Furlani; and his sister, Alberta Youngs. Funeral service Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 9 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours, Friday afternoon 4 to 7 p.m. in the evening at the funeral home. Interment, St. John's Cemetery, Schenectady.
