Obituary of Earl Underhill

Schenectady - Earl G. Underhill died on Christmas, December 25, 2013 among loving family and friends at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. He was 86 years old. Earl Underhill was born on October 27, 1927, the eldest son of Benjamin Underhill and Ada (Collins) Underhill. He had two brothers, William H. Underhill (his wife, Noreen) of Clifton Park and Robert B. Underhill (his wife, Emily) of Schenectady. Earl was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School; he served in the United States Navy during WWII and worked for Bell System in Schenectady. Most recently, he resided at Lake Sunnyside in Queensbury, NY. Earl was the true loving husband of Irene M. Underhill of Whitehall for 63 years, who predeceased him on September 21, 2013. They had three children; daughters, Arlene Seelye of Queensbury and Deborah Henderson of Halfmoon; and son, William R. Underhill, who resides with his wife, Nadine (Briscoe) Underhill in Kona, HI. Earl is also survived by his grandchildren, Cory (Seelye) Dixon, Chad Seelye, Matthew Henderson and his wife, Stefanie (Angrisano) Henderson, Ryan Curry and his wife, Kathryn (Bell) Curry, Daryn Curry and his wife, Dr. Nicole Hartvigsen and Ethan Underhill. He had two great-grandchildren, Zada Dixon and Quinlan Curry. He was also survived by his devoted adopted son, Kevin Crawford; his lifelong friend, Stanley Cohen; and many caring cousins, nieces and nephews. He was deeply loved and his warm wit will be missed by all. The family wishes to express appreciation to the caring staff of Ellis Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, May 12, 2014 at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY with full military honors.
