Sharon Springs - Robert T. Stay Sr., 82, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014. Robert was born in Schenectady the son of the late Frederick and Winifred (Issac) Stay and was a lifelong area resident. He proudly served in the US Air Force and worked as a mason for more than 40 years. Robert was a lifelong lover of Harley Davidson motorcycles and rode his entire adult life. He enjoyed bowling and dancing and loved the company of family and friends. Robert was predeceased by his wife, Pauline Stay, who passed away in 1991 and their infant daughter, Cheri Lynne Stay. He is survived by his sons, Robert T. Stay, Jr., Stewart (Alice) Stay, Alan (Julie) Stay and Frank Stay; siblings, Fred, Gert, Naomi, Gloria, Gracie, Patty, Eddie and Bonnie; grandchildren, Sherill, A.J., Tobey, Steve, Melissa, Heather, Robert, Brooke, Krystal Lynn, Eli and Kim; several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be Monday 12 noon at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours will precede the service from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon on Monday. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie.
