Obituary of Elizabeth Soennichsen

Charlton - Elizabeth Johns Peare Soennichsen, 85, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at Ellis Hospital. Beth was born in Schenectady, July 19, 1928, the daughter of the late Robert and Katherine (Johns) Peare, graduated from Nott Terrace High School and earned her BA in romance languages from the University of Michigan. She was a 64-year member of the Schenectady Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution as secretary, director, Delegate to Continental Congress and the New York State Conferences, for which she was recognized by the Chapter and National D.A.R. She was also an Emeritus member of the Jr. League. Beth is survived by her husband of 59 years, Eric Soennichsen, and their son, Mark Peare Soennichsen. She was predeceased by her son, Robert Eric Soennichsen. Beth's family would like to thank the entire staff of A wing 3rd floor and Community Hospice of Schenectady for the wonderful care given to Beth and her family. The funeral services will be Saturday, 11 a.m. at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours will precede the service from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Park View Cemetery. She was a loving mother and wife and will be greatly missed.
